Burger King International* today opened
its first restaurant in The Republic of Cyprus. This restaurant, located
in Agia Napa, is to be one of four new restaurants built in Cyprus over
the next year, representing a total investment of US$ 5 million. BKI expects
this expansion will create more than 200 new jobs. This opening symbolizes
the eighth new market entry_ for the BURGER KING® brand in the past five
years and underlines Burger King International’s successful growth strategy.
This announcement follows the recent opening of Burger King International’s
3000th restaurant in Hamburg, Germany. Burger King International restaurant
portfolio growth rate of 62 % over the last five years.
The new restaurant, which was inaugurated
today by Mr. Yiorgos Lillikas, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism,
is an in-line operation located at 14 Arch. Makraios III Avenue, Agia
Napa. The restaurant has a very modern, fresh, bright & friendly appearance.
The interior comes with the look of the Diner-style of the 1950s emphasising
the BURGER KING® brand’s American heritage. (Photos are available on request.)

The restaurant is operated by Burger King Franchisee King
Franchises Ltd, is led by well-known entrepreneur, Mr. Kyriacos Zivanaris.
