October 2004 Cardiff It’s a case of blessed are the cheese
lovers, according to Cardiff’s burger fans. Scoring way over the national
average, cheese romped home as their favourite choice of filling in a
new BURGER KING‚ opinion poll conducted to support the launch of its new
You’re the Boss‘ campaign.
Ketchup is squashed Tomato sauce is a national
institution, but according to the 1300 surveyed, its popularity may be
slipping. Scoring just 26% of the vote in Cardiff, our love for mayonnaise
has left ketchup playing catch up.
Egg heads The survey also asked consumers
what alternative ingredients they would like to see in their burgers.
In Cardiff, the results showed that burger lovers would like to see egg
on their patties. Pepperoni, on the other hand, scored lowest in the Welsh
capital than in any other part of the UK.
“From Cardiff to Cambridge, Glasgow to Greater London we all have our
preferences in what we like in a burger,” says Paul Reynish, BURGER KING®
Marketing Director. “If people from Cardiff love cheese, then that’s what
we’ll give them. If they want treble pickle, no lettuce and extra onion,
they can have that too. We all have our preferences. That’s why we treat
people as individuals. You can have any of our sandwiches any way you
like because at BURGER KING‚ You’re the Boss‘.”
