Octopus 2004 - Liverpool Liverpudlians are lettuce lovers according
to a new BURGER KING‚ opinion poll.
To support the launch of its new You’re the Boss‘ campaign, BURGER KING‚
surveyed over 1300 people about their favourite burger fillings. Liverpool’s
burger fans opted for lettuce as their favourite burger ingredient, with
tomato also coming near the top of the table.
Ketchup is squashed Tomato sauce is a national
institution, but according to the You’re the Boss‘ survey its popularity
may be slipping. Scoring just 19% of the vote in Liverpool, our love for
mayonnaise has left ketchup playing catch up.
Full of beans The survey also asked consumers
what alternative ingredients they would like to see in their burgers.
In line with the national average, mushrooms came out on top, but baked
beans were twice as popular in Liverpool than anywhere else in the country.
“From Liverpool to Land’s End, Glasgow to Greater London we all have
our preferences in what we like in a burger,” says Paul Reynish, BURGER
KING® Marketing Director. “If people from Liverpool love lettuce, then
that’s what we’ll give them. If they want treble tomato, no pickle and
extra onion, they can have that too. We all have our preferences. That’s
why we treat people as individuals. You can have any of our sandwiches
any way you like because at BURGER KING‚ You’re the Boss‘.”
BURGER KING® surveyed 1,300 consumers, (100 from Liverpool) to support
its new ‘You’re The Boss’™ advertising campaign, which launched earlier
this month with an exciting series of hilarious new TV advertisements
and customer offers.
