October 2004 London It’s a case of ‘let’s go mayo
mental’, as London’s burger fans called for more of the continental condiment
in a new BURGER KING‚ opinion poll.
To support the launch of its new You’re the Boss‘ campaign, BURGER KING‚
surveyed over 1300 people about their favourite burger fillings. Scoring
way over the national average, mayo left tomato sauce needing to ‘ketchup’
in Bristol
No more cheese please Cheese scored way
below the national average revealing a preference amongst Londoners
for lettuce, more ‘light and airy’ than ‘dairy’.
Bistro burgers The survey also asked consumers
what alternative ingredients they would like to see in their burgers.
In London, avocado put in a strong showing, scoring nearly three times
more votes than the national average proving that London really is the
cosmopolitan capital of Europe.
“From London to Leeds, Aberdeen to Anglesey, we all have our preferences
in what we like in a burger,” says Paul Reynish, BURGER KING® Marketing
Director. “If Londoners love mayo, then that’s what we’ll give them. If
they want treble pickle, no lettuce and extra onion, they can have that
too. We all have our preferences. That’s why we treat people as individuals.
