October 2004 The Midlands It’s a case of blessed are the cheese lovers,
according to Midland’s burger fans. Scoring way over the national average,
cheese romped home as their favourite choice of filling in a new BURGER
KING‚ opinion poll conducted to support the launch of its new You’re the
Boss‘ campaign.
Ketchup is squashed Tomato sauce is a national
institution, but according to the 1300 surveyed, its popularity may be
slipping. Scoring just 20% of the vote in the Midlands, our love for mayonnaise
has left ketchup playing catch up
Blue cheese please The survey also asked
consumers what alternative ingredients they would like to see in their
burgers. Again, Midlander’s love for cheese came through with a top score
for blue cheese as an alternative ingredient.
“From Birmingham to Bristol, Glasgow to Greater London we all have our
preferences in what we like in a burger,” says Paul Reynish, BURGER KING®
Marketing Director. “If Midlanders love cheese, then that’s what we’ll
give them. If they want treble pickle, no lettuce and extra onion, they
