Thursday, 14 October, London To celebrate
National Boss Day on 16th October, and the launch of its new advertising
campaign, BURGER KING® today announces findings from its ‘You’re the Boss’™
survey revealing what we feel about the people in charge.
| Battle of the sexes |
| • |
Only 20% of UK workers
like working for the opposite sex! |
| • |
Men are 50% more likely
to put a lady in charge, if unhappy with their current male boss |
| Boss happy |
| • |
Over 60% of us are happy
with our existing bosses |
| • |
Brummies come out top of the ‘boss happy’ national
league |
| • |
Yorkshire, Merseyside and Tyneside have the highest
levels of boss blues |
| If we were boss for a day: |
| • |
35% of us would take our
work buddies out to lunch |
| • |
28% would select a fat
cat pay rise |
| • |
19% say they’d just chill
out and take a break |
| • |
15% would send the existing
boss to the bottom rung of the ladder |
| • |
6% would sack the boss
|
‘Brent-o-phobia’ - When asked about what
makes a good boss, ‘fairness’ and the ‘ability to listen’ came out as
the most desired attributes. ‘Trying to be one of the gang’ is what most
makes our skin crawl.
BURGER KING® Marketing Director Paul Reynish said, “You’re the Boss™
encapsulates the BK philosophy. At BURGER KING‚ we treat our customers
as individuals not one of the herd. Our survey gives plenty of food for
thought for people in charge around the country and not surprisingly,
we’re delighted that ‘lunch’ comes before money and holidays in the nation’s
working wish list!”
BURGER KING® surveyed over 1,300 consumers to support the launch of its
You’re the Boss™ campaign. You’re the Boss™ launches this month with a
series of quirky TV ads and restaurant offers.
