3rd December 2004: To celebrate the launch of its new Spicy TenderCrispTM
chicken sandwich, BURGER KING® is partnering originaldating.com, London’s
number 1 Speed Dating company, to hold the first ever speed dating event
to take place in a fast food restaurant. ‘Fast Love’ will be
trialled at BURGER KING®’s Regent Street restaurant this Saturday,
11th December, at 2.00pm.
“There would seem to be no better place to find love in the fastest
time possible,” comments BURGER KING®’s Heidi Gracie. “With
the new TenderCrisp you can spice up your lovelife safe in the knowledge
that you won’t get stuck with a blind date for a five course meal
when you know after the starter that it’s a no go. You will meet like
minded people of your own age who, most probably, will be the people you
would choose as your friends anyway.”
The event will be hosted by www.originaldating.com on behalf of BURGER KING®
and its director, Andrew Sommersgill, is delighted at having found a new
partner:
“Our organisation offers 25 to 30 year olds speed dating services
which are normally held at high end London bars, but BURGER KING®’s
target audience directly matches ours so we thought we’d see if we
can put fast love on their menu. We’ve got a great success rate in
helping people to find love – this time, though, it will be quicker
than ever!”
‘Fast Love’ will follow the same format as traditional speed
dating events, although all potential suitors will be given a Spicy TenderCrispTM
Chicken meal to help spice up proceedings. If the speed dating trial is
successful, then BURGER KING® will consider rolling it out in the New
Year to other city centre locations such as Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh,
Glasgow and Bristol.
The event is open to anyone and people can register in advance at www.originaldating.com
or on the day itself.
